About Me
Let me tell you why I became a counsellor & how I arrived here to help you.
My journey started as a young guy who really wanted to pursue a career in the fitness industry. I was reviewing my options in pursuing a career path of Exercise Physiology or physiotherapy – until my own mental health took a turn for the worst.
That’s right… I once in the other chair. Battling severe OCD and Intrusive traumatic thoughts, I was desperate for help. I was compulsively seeking help from various mental health clinicians, as well as looking for help in anyone or anything that could give me false reassurance.
One moment life seemed normal… and then before I knew it… I was asking how this happened to me… and why I couldn’t just “be normal again” or “my old problem-free self”.
I could not find help anywhere… I didn’t even know exactly what specifically was wrong… or how it even happened to me?! All I knew… is that I was crippled with anxiety & intrusive thoughts that disrupted every waking moment of my life.
I knew I couldn’t live that way, so I completely changed where I wanted to take my future. I dedicated my life to a new path of study, making it my mission to stop anyone being in the position I was once in.
So today, 8 years later as professional Rehabilitation Counsellor, I now specialize in treating complex mental illness in discharged Military veterans, complex disability clients (NDIS), different types of trauma… and how to assist clients get their lives back… and become the healthy person they were destined to become.
